Uche Igwe, a 40-year-old broadcaster, was arrested before a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Monday for allegedly uploading a 10-year-old Chrisland Schools’ student’s s#x video on Twitter.

Igwe was charged with cyber-stalking and breach of peace on two counts. Igwe purposefully published the video of the 10-year-old female pupil engaged in s#xu*l intercóurse with another student in Dubai on Twitter, according to prosecution counsel attached to the State Criminal Investigation Department Panti, Mr Augustine Nwabuisi.
He further claimed that the defendant shared the footage on the internet for public consumption without the authorization of the student’s parents or the school.
The prosecutor also informed the court that the defendant committed the crimes on April 18 while using the Twitter application.

The claimed offenses are in violation of Section 24 (1) (a) (b) I of the Cybercrime (Prohibition and Prevention) Act of 2015, as well as Section 168 (d) of the Lagos State Criminal Law of 2015.
Igwe, on the other hand, has denied the charge. Mrs Adeola Adedayo, the Chief Magistrate, granted the defendant bail in the amount of N10 million with three sureties in the same amount. She postponed the case’s hearing until June 13th.
