Alaafin of Oyo: Uproar as bees attack mourners at late monarch’s palace

When Imams came at the Oyo palace for the funeral rites of the late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, an unusual event occurred.

A hive of bees dispersed a crowd that gathered at the Oyo palace to mourn the death of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, on Saturday, April 23 including a police officer, when mourners crowded the palace.

According to Punch, the bizarre episode occurred when Islamic clerics arrived at the palace to prepare for Oba Adeyemi’s funeral.

Residents in the region, on the other hand, pulled leaves off trees and utilized them to repel the pests.

According to Punch, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, will be buried on Saturday, April 22 at 4 p.m.

Despite the fact that palace authorities declared the conventional rites of passage had been finished as of 07:45 a.m. on Saturday, it was learned that the late monarch would be buried according to Islamic rituals.
