Anthony Joshua to earn £100m from Usyk rematch

Anthony Joshua, a two-time heavyweight champion, will make a staggering £100 million from his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk, a sum comparable to that of his multi-million dollar DAZN contract.

On August 20, 2022, the fight will take place in Saudi Arabia, and both competitors may expect a massive payoff.

The Daily Mail reports that the site fee alone is estimated to cost over £92 million, nearly twice what the Sheiks paid to host the first Saudi Arabia Grand Prix.
Joshua, who received the majority of the Sheiks’ £66 million site fee to face Andy Ruiz Jr. in 2019, will be paid 50% of the total amount this time.

Around 1.2 million people bought the fight in September despite fan outcry over the £24.95 fee to view it. A repetition would increase the prize pool by another £30 million, bringing the total to almost £130 million.

The Brit will receive a minimum payout of £65 million thanks to a 50/50 split. However, The Sun claims that if ticket revenues and sponsorship agreements are included, the sum may approach the £100 million mark.
