13 housemates competed in the new Head of House games on Monday for the opportunity to succeed Big Brother Naija as HOH. The first game featured all of the housemates, including Sheggz, who had just been relieved of his duties as the previous week’s Tail of House.
The first game involved the female housemates having to throw tennis balls at water bottles on a table, one at a time, until all eleven bottles were gone or severely diminished. When the bell sounded to close the first game, Phyna and Daniella stood out as the top two female champions.
Following the permitted minute, Adekunle and Sheggz advanced to the next round of the game when it was the men’s turn to play. As a result of disobeying one of the game’s regulations, Chizzy and Chi Chi were eliminated.
The remaining contestants, Phyna, Daniella, Adekunle, and Sheggz, had one minute to fill an empty jug with water they had to spout from their mouths in the second round of the water challenge. The prized Head of House title was immediately awarded to Phyna because she was the first to complete the round.
With her victory, Phyna became the seventh Head of House, the second female HOH, and the first Level 2 housemate to triumph in the HoH games this season. Due to her poor performance on the first challenge, Rachel was named the Tail of the House, and Biggie will be announcing her awards.
In the meantime, Big Brother Naija Season 7 house level changes have been released by MultiChoice Nigeria. During the live eviction show on Sunday, Level 3 was unlocked after Doyin, Eloswag, and Chomzy left the house.
At MultiChoice Nigeria, Busola Tejumola, the Executive Head of Content and West Africa Channels, commented on the news.
“We promised at the start of the season that there would be a lot of twists and levels to the game. In addition to the mergers and surprise exits that have been witnessed so far, we are stirring things up some more, to keep the housemates on their toes and the viewers entertained.”
She continued: “With the new level unlocked, housemates from tonight’s eviction will move to Level 3 where they will partake in regular house activities such as the Diary sessions, Biggie’s tasks and Sponsored tasks. They will also keep any winnings from the tasks. Level 3 housemates will, however, not take part in the Head of House games or nomination processes. They are also no longer in the race for the grand prize of 100 Million.”
Speaking further, Busola said, “In another twist, Doyin, Eloswag, and Chomzy, will return to the main house during the week, where they will remain as Big Brother’s house guests till at least the 18th of September. The main housemates will be oblivious to the existence of Level 3.”
