Deontay Wilder and Andy Ruiz Jnr has been lined up to face off in what might look like a heated match after they were each displaced by their opponents.
Deontay Wilder and Andy Ruiz Jnr, after losing to Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are both set to return to the ring later this year and the winner could get a shot at redemption with a world title fight in 2022.
According to World Boxing News, both of them are being lined up to face each other in November or December while the winner potentially gets another shot at a world title.
Since Wilder was severely knocked off by Tyson Fury in February 2020, he hasn’t occupied the ring, while Ruiz has also been off since he lost his rematch with Anthony Joshua in December 2019.
Both fighters have been out of the world title race at present, while Fury and Joshua are almost concluding agreements on a mega two-fight deal to face each other twice this year.
However, according to Daily Mail promoter, Al Haymon is said to be keen to pit his two biggest stars against each other as they look to work their way back to the top.
Ruiz is set to face Chris Arreola in his comeback fight in April while Wilder, might be facing either Charles Martin or Robert Helenius when he returns to action this summer after more than a year out.
