Femi Fani Kayode’s ex-Wife Precuous Chikwendu has been arraigned for attempted murder

Mrs Precious Chikwendu, the estranged wife of former Aviation Minister Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, was arraigned at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday by the Nigerian Police

According to reports online Precious Chikwendu was charged on Monday, February 14 at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

The controversia former beauty queen who claimed to have suffered from mental health issues like depression as a result of marital crisis was charged before Justice Inyang Ekwo with attempting to assassinate her ex-husband.

Some online sources revealed that Ms Chikwendu was not the only one involved, three others were accused of attempting to stab Mr Fani-Kayode with a kitchen knife on November 24, 2018, at Asokoro, Abuja, in the case number FHCABJ/CR/1/2022 filed by the Commissioner of Police against them.

The first, third, and fourth defendants in the case against Precious are Emmanuel Anakan, Prisca Chikwendu, and Osakwe Azubuike, respectively, while others are reported to remain at large.

What Are The Charges Levelled Against Them

According to the 13-count complaint filed on January 7, they were charged with cybercrime, intimidation to murder FFK over the internet, and threatening to kill one Lauretta to force her to terminate her relationship with the politician.

They were also accused of producing fake evidence and forcing the claims to be electronically published in a national daily to frame FFK for physically and sexually assaulting members of his domestic staff.

Why Exactly Was Precious Arrested


Precious Chikwendu, mother of four, was also charged with referring to Fani-Kayode as “Mr Short Fuse” on her Facebook page on December 7, 2021.

With evidence of several claims the ex beauty queen had made on her facebook page, she was also alleged to have framed him of being “sexually incapacitated and that he is not the biological father of the four children she had for him as a wife.”

What Happens Next?

The culprits have all pleaded not guilty to all 13 counts, however, Justice Ekwo, the presiding judge, granted the prosecution attorney’s request for a trial date, which was set for April 27, 28, and 29.

While we do not have any further information about the outcome of the case, it is understood that Precious’ lawyer, Alex Ejesieme, SAN, has asked the court to grants the defendant’s bail based on the police’s current administrative bail.
