Fero a loyal dog refused to leave owner’s grave a week after his demise

Following the death of Omar Guven a week ago in the northern Turkish province of Trabzon, a German Shepherd dog has been seen lying in wait close to his owner’s grave.

Reports had it that the dog refuse to exit the spot close to it’s owners grave.

Many social media users have been broken by a series of photographs that reflect the dog constantly stretching beside his owner’s grave.

According to reports, the dog’s owner, Omer Guven, relocated to the Kaymakli district after the death of his wife 12 years ago and has been caring for stray cats and dogs.

He began caring for the German Shepherd when it was a puppy, and he called it “Fero.”

He was widely respected and recognized as a dog lover until his death on October 29th, at the age of 92, following a brief illness.

Fero is said to have stayed with the casket until the next day’s funeral and has been laying near his grave for about a week.

According to sources, the dog will not leave the graveside and constantly rubs its head in the dirt.

Sevilay Surul, Omer’s daughter, said:

“My father loved Fero very much.

“He also had an incredible love for my father. He was so sad over the loss of my father

“He didn’t eat or sleep for two days. My father loved all animals and kept them, but he had a special bond with Fero.”

Temel Yilmaz, a community leader in Kaymakli, spoke about the deceased. In his words, he said;

“Uncle Omer took great care of animals. Fero was devastated when he passed away. We even saw tears flowing from Fero’s eyes.”
