Known for the Folk song titled Yetunde, SGM uncovers a self-imposed dilemma to his fans on his new single titled Good Bad Gorl. Good Bad Gorl is a tale of the love interest he has in a lady described as a good bad one.

This is a case of contradiction, yet SGM makes his point clear. His intended simply embodies two different behavioral characteristics. On the first verse, she is described as a smoker and a “gangster”—hence “girl na fire, girl na smoke”. She is however a sweet lover on the second verse because she makes “my heart dey cool like ice”.

The dilemma emerges at the point where the relationship gets serious as SGM contemplates whether or not his mother would welcome him marrying such a woman.

This is contrary to what we heard on Pretty Pretty, his previous single recommended to fans by Joeboy in September. Though Pretty Pretty is also used to express a love interest but, not with this kind of dilemma and confusion.

The folk song, Yetunde, on the other hand is a sad reflection on the painful heartbreak he experienced from a lover who, according to the song, left me “follow Uche”. Though, this should be a sad song, but the guitar sounds make it otherwise.

Before Yetunde was Na Your Fault, an Afrobeats song used to debunk the belief that one’s failure is caused by his “village people”. On this song, SGM tells his listeners to take responsibility for whatever failure they record in life rather than go on believing there are people facilitating their ill-luck.

On Go Mad on the other hand, SGM rues a lover he lost to relocation. His lover had “travelled to USA” leaving him behind never to return or connect with him again forever. It’s sad and it makes the singer “go mad”.
