Ini Edo, an actress, businesswoman, and mother of one child by herself, has responded to the rumor that she had an affair with a married man.
ePass Words cites allegations made by a certain blogger named Cute Juls that the actress was dating Obialor Obidimalor, the chairman of the Dimalor Group.
The blogger said that Obialor vacationed with Ini Edo in France in a post on Instagram on Tuesday, but the supposed lovers chose to make their meeting appear less suspicious by uploading images from several locales.
Ini Edo responded to the accusation in an Instagram post in the early hours of July 6, 2022, and warned about karma in a coded message.
“When you’re ugly on the outside and on the inside, You will get what’s coming,” she wrote.
Ini Edo, who recently turned 40, asserts that her body of work—and not social media—made her famous.
Ini Edo argued that the introduction of social media made it easy for many people to become successful in a recent interview with actress and filmmaker Lilian Afegbai, taking a shot at BBNaija stars and other influencers who become celebrities overnight through social media.
She said: “With the emergence of social media it’s earlier for a lot of people to become celebrities, we didn’t have the platform to give us celebrity status, we had work, it was our body of work so it wasn’t even about the fame at that time, it was more about being successful at the job.
“For instance, when I came in it was mostly dominated by the light-skinned girls, there were just a few of us who were dark-skinned girls so coming in from that place and trying to drive yourself to a point of acceptability, took a lot of work, then passion. Social media was not there to make people see how fly you were or how talented you were, it was the work.”
