Sylvester Oromoni, a late 12-year-old student at Dowen College in Lagos, had his autopsy report made public.
Sylvester died of ‘acute lung injury from chemical poisoning in the context of blunt force,’ according to the autopsy.
This fresh revelation has led to the hauling of investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo, who claimed that Sylvester Oromoni decided to join a cult gang in his school and also agreed to be beaten as part of the initiation process.
Sylvester died after being allegedly bullied by his seniors at Dowen College.
The story sparked outrage among Nigerians, including high-profile comments, weeks ago, as they urged that justice be done.
According to the postmortem report signed off by one Dr Clement Vhriterhire, the late student had a scalded upper lip, bruised flanks/back, acute stomach erosion, acute lung injury, cerebral oedema with raised intracranial pressure, and an enlarged liver.
