On Sunday, December 12, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Whitemoney put on a concert at the Lagos Food Festival 2021. In a viral video, the Lagos state governor can be seen cooking with Whitemoney, the winner of the BBNaija reality TV competition in 2021. The film has elicited mixed reactions, with some claiming the governor was indirectly campaigning for re-election in 2023.
On social media, a video of Lagos state governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu cooking with Hazel Onoduenyi, often known as Whitemoney, has elicited conflicting comments.
Governor Sanwo-Olu and Whitemoney, the winner of BBNaija 2021, are seen in black aprons preparing the cuisine in the video. While the Lagos state governor stirs the meal, Whitemoney is seen seasoning it to the delight of the audience. The theme of the Lagos Food Festival 2021, which will take place on Sunday, December 12 in Muri Okunola Park in Victoria Island, Lagos, is “A Taste of Lagos.”
According to Ms. Abisola Olusanyato, the commissioner of agriculture, the festival aims to pique the interest of local and global investors in the food industry.
In a statement on his verified Facebook page, Governor Sanwo-Olu claimed he took on the role of a chef as he accompanied the guest chef, Whitemoney, in the preparation of a Lagos specialty made from onion, smoked fish, blended granules of bonga fish, cray fish, pepper, and seasoning.
He added: “The Food Festival was put together by the Ministry of Agriculture to exhibit local delicacies and agricultural commodities produced in Lagos for the international market.
“I encouraged the sellers to take advantage of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) to grow their businesses, noting that part of the event’s objectives was to boost the entrepreneurial spirit of the residents.
Our administration is very committed to promoting the growth of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and we will continually carry out reforms to ensure the ease of doing business in Lagos.”
