Nsanzimana Elie, a young man who lived in the woods, was bullied in his tribe because of his appearance, with people referring to him as a monkey. Elie’s mother believes he is the answer to her prayers after losing all five of her children, and she is not ashamed of him. He made news and received a lot of sympathies after his tale aired in February.
Nsanzimana Elie, a 21-year-old guy from Rwanda’s Southern province, was featured on Afrimax television about nine months ago. Because of his looks, Elie, who had lived in the bushes, was labeled a gorilla or a monkey.
Elie’s fortune has transformed as a result of the outpouring of support from well-wishers.
Elie was the answer to his mother’s prayers, she stated in a media interview, after she had given up hope of ever having children. She prayed to God for a kid who could live, even if it meant having a crippled child.
“Elie is my sixth child. His five children have all died. After the death of his elders, we were desperate. We prayed to God to get another kid and fortunately, we were blessed with Elie. Now I cherish him as heaven’s gift from God and love him enormously,” her mother said.
Elie’s mother stated she knew he’d be different from the moment he was born since he had an abnormally small head and strange facial features. Later, it was determined that he was non-verbal and had learning difficulties.
His mother claimed he couldn’t go to school because of learning issues and an inability to communicate with others.
Doctors warned her the boy’s intellectual capacity wouldn’t allow him to concentrate in class, but he could learn enough to get by. He spent a lot of his time as a child in the bush, eating grass, according to his mother. He would follow him down every evening to bring him home, according to his mother, because he spent all day racing around the bush. She claimed he disliked the food and would go days without eating.
“He simply likes bananas and fresh foods and it is not easy to provide the basic needs for both of us,” she said.
She also stated that her son was terrified of people and would flee from them. To keep him in check, the mother stated she had to tie him up with ropes at times.
Elie’s mother stated she was constantly heartbroken when his kid was called a monkey, a gorilla, and other derogatory names by his neighbors.
“Whenever I hear someone bullying, insulting or beating him, it really gives me a heart attack. My kid is innocent, he never does harm to anyone and I sometimes lose my temper when people call him animal and not treating him like a human being,” she added.
The benefactors constructed and equipped a new home for them. Elie managed to win over a lot of people’s hearts. He is now a celebrity who wears suits and luxury clothing. He now has a large number of fans who want to snap pictures with him whenever he is on the road. After spending a lot of time in the forest, he was enrolled in school and is now learning how to stay with people.
