- Frustrated Manchester United fans, who demand that Old Trafford executives IGNORE Mauricio Pochettino and choose Erik ten Hag as their next manager, following allegations that they were on’red alert’ for the PSG manager
- Mauricio Pochettino may be on his way out of PSG before the conclusion of the season, and Manchester United are said to be on high alert over their long-term managerial objective
- The Red Devils’ supporters, on the other hand, are asking their team to appoint Ajax manager Erik ten Hag instead of Pochettino
The Red Devil supporters are raising eyebrows as per the new permanent manager and there has also been a buzz on social media as fans want the club to null the idea of appointing Mauricio Pochettino and pick Erik ten Hag as their next manager, despite rumours that the club is on red alert over the PSG manager.
Recall that Pochettino has been linked with a move to United for some time, having pleased United officials during his previous six-year tenure in England with Southampton and Tottenham.
He has been in command of PSG for the past 13 months, winning 44 of his 66 games and leading Ligue 1 by 11 points this season.
Pochettino’s future at the Parc des Princes, though, is in doubt following their shock French Cup defeat against Nice on Monday, according to Le Parisien.
If PSG fails to beat Real Madrid in the Champions League last-16 – the crucial second leg comes on March 9 – the Argentine is expected to be fired before the end of the season.
Pochettino’s situation is being closely monitored by United, who are still looking for a permanent manager after replacing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in November.
These claims, however, have not gone over well with Red Devils supporters, who would want Ajax manager Ten Hag to take over as their new manager this summer.
According to Daily Mail Sport, One United fan wrote on Twitter: ‘I really hope it’s not Poch, man. Ten Hag has done brilliantly with that young Ajax squad. Imagine what he can do with Uniteds’ youngsters.’
Another commented: ‘After everything the last manager put us through the fans deserve the best manager available and imo that’s not Poch. I think most fans want Ten Hag, I do anyway.’
‘Taking Poch and letting Ten Hag replace Pep [Guardiola] at [Manchester] City will be another big wrong decision by Man Utd,’ a third insisted.
A fourth pleaded with the club: ‘I’m begging Man United. Please no Poch, get me Erik Ten hag’.
While one came to this brutal conclusion: ‘If we dare appoint Poch over Ten Hag I will give up on this football club. It’ll be the final nail in the “Manchester United have no ambition to ever win anything ever again” coffin.’
