Masquerades flog pastor and members after invading church in Plateau, Jos

On September 18, 2022, a church in Shikal village, Langtang South Local Government Area, Plateau State, reportedly came under attack by masqueraders.

The report claims that the masqueraders who disturbed the Sunday service beat up the pastor of the church and other worshipers.

It’s reported that the church members did not confront the masquerades but later gathered to salvage what was left of their properties which were also destroyed during the attack.

Plateau church scattered by masquerade

According to the Daily Trust, the village’s elders are attempting to find the source of the problem in order to return things back to normal.

A Nigerian woman described how she was flogged by masquerade until she passed out in Anambra state sometime in April of this year.

Ngene Chiamaka Marvelous, a woman on Facebook, posted on her profile about how she went to the market despite her health issues and, regrettably, bumped into a masquerade at Eke Nibo on her way home.

She revealed that the masquerade flogged her and that other people joined in until she passed out. She posted pictures of her wounds on Facebook after getting a whipping that left her with welts.
