Morocco Tops The List Of Africa’s COVID-19 Vaccinations

Since the Covid-19 vaccine has arrived in Africa, more than 7million doses have been administered across the continent.

According to the World Health Organization, two weeks after the COVAX-funded AstraZeneca vaccines arrived, Ghana has given more than 420 000 doses, which makes them cover over up to 60% of the no. of the population in the first phase in the Greater Accra region, which was severely hit by the pandemic.

Also, Morocco has the highest number in Africa, with more than 8.73 million people vaccinated against Coronavirus which makes them the 14th highest in the world.

The targeted population it proposes is around 30 million people i.e 80% of the population while they achieve COVID-19 herd immunity in 2-4 months.

Although some countries on the African continent have stopped or postponed the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine after it was suspended by some countries in Europe.

South Africa has halted administering the Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine for some precautionary reasons too.
