The case of late gospel musician Osinachi Nwachukwu has been handed to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions by the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja Police Command.
In an Abuja hospital, the Ekwueme singer died on April 8.
Her close friends and family claimed she died in the hospital after her husband kicked her in the chest during one of his frequent physical assaults on her.
Mr. Peter Nwachukwu, her husband, was then detained on suspicion of culpable homicide on Sunday, April 10th.
The case was transferred the next day from the Lugbe Police Division to the State Criminal Investigation Department, according to the report.
However, a source has come forward to provide additional information about the current development. The autopsy report had been released, according to the PUNCH Metro, and the police would seek legal guidance on the case.
On Monday, Josephine Adeh, the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, declared the case was no longer under investigation.
She said, “The case is no longer with us. It is now with the DPP in the office of the Attorney General.”
