Reactions Sparked As Couples Were Forced To Spend Their First Night In The Cold At An Open Stadium In Rwanda

A newly wedded couple and their wedding guests were forced to spend their first night in the cold at an open stadium after breaching Covid-19 rules.

The incident which sparked criticism among social media users has gone viral on the internet after the bride told the BBC that spending the evening at a stadium “on my wedding day is a bad memory that will never fade in my life”.

According to reports from the nilespost police from Kigali had halted upto 3 weddings which saw more than 20 attendees.

A police spokesperson revealed that more people are hosting parties and are violating the measures”, and security men would ensure to prevent such occasion.

However, Rwanda’s response to Covid-19 has been tremendously acknowledged by international bodies but the country has recorded more than 22,000 cases of Covid-19 and 311 deaths.
