The Wildflower tells the tale of three women and their experiences with sexual assault, produced by Vincent Okonkwo (Ponzi) and featuring Damilare Kuku in the lead role.
When you witness a film with a small cast of superstars, you are either blown away or dissatisfied.

The Wildflower; a Nollywood film about a young, ambitious girl named Rolake who has always wanted to work for a prestigious design firm. Rolake was finally hired as a Personal Assistant to Mr. Gowon, the CEO, and she did an excellent job, even accompanying him on business trips.
Rolake, on the other hand, shared a slum with another family of four, where the father was constantly abusing the mother.
Unfortunately, the couple’s two daughters had to watch their father constantly beat their mother, and this lasted until their father killed their mother.
Rolake takes the two girls into her home and starts caring for them out of compassion. When Rolake went on a business trip with her boss, she had to leave them behind (which her boyfriend strongly advised against).
Mr Gowon raped her and then tossed money at her so she could take care of herself while she was on a business trip. Rolake finally released a video exposing MR Gowon after great persuasion from a doctor, and Mr Gowon sued her for defamation of character in response.
Was Rolake successful in court, or did Mr Gowon use his money to win her? It is up to you to find out.
The Wildflower poses a stance that sends a message against domestic violence and rape. The Wildflower aptly conveyed its message without trying to do too much or complicate the tale, despite having few or no high and low points.
The writer didn’t want to waste time crafting tension and instead wanted to go right to the point; if you ask me, it’s not a huge issue. The premise, character development, and plotline were all adequate.
However, certain unsolved concerns led me to assume the author was rushing the plot to its conclusion. After Mr. Gowon met with Rolake’s lover, what occurred next? What did Rolake’s boyfriend talk to the doctor about?
What are the implications of those moments for the movie’s plot development? Regardless, it wasn’t an awful story.
Biodun Stephens has repeatedly established herself as a capable filmmaker, particularly in dramas, as seen by her previous work. Despite the lack of tension in the film, the director attempted to generate it. One time, Rolake and one of the females were scheduled to be raped at the same time.
We observed the two events unfold simultaneously, which piqued the interest of spectators who wanted to know what would happen next. In a nutshell, The Wildflower’s director performed an outstanding job.
In terms of performance, the actors did a terrific job, and Deyemi Okanlawon, without a doubt, is a good actress who did honor to that part. Damilare Kuku should be on the screen more because she did an excellent job, and while I believe someone else may have done a greater job, Damilare definitely gave it her all to bring that character to life. Toyin Abraham and Kiki Omeile also performed admirably in their respective parts. Other actors such as Imoh Eboh and Etinosa were also good. To be honest, the performance was fair and believable, but nothing outstanding.
The cinematography was excellent, but the costume designer should explain why particular garments were used at specific scenes. Rolake, for example, was completely dressed and at her home, her chamber, preparing to depart the next day? That was hardly credible.
Overall, The Wildflower is a good drama, and drama fans will enjoy it. It will, however, receive a 6.5/10 for ratings.
