The former Juventus star made a move to Old Trafford in 2003, after spending his formative years at the Portuguese club.

However, his mother Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro reportedly told him: “Son, before I die, I want to see you return to Sporting.” According to her, she had always wished to see the five-time Ballon d’Or winner playing at the Estadio Jose Alvalade.

And now, with Sporting eager to re-sign Ronaldo, who is anxious to play Champions League games, that dream may come true.

It’s rumored that they’ve been in touch with United and offered to take him off their hands in exchange for United terminating his lucrative contract so they wouldn’t owe them anything.

ePW recalls an earlier report made by Sky Sports that Manchester United may have to consider terminating Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract unless they see a change in his attitude.

However, the Red Devils are considering selling Ronaldo given the player’s actions during the first few weeks of the new season, after having previously ruled out a sale in the preseason.
